The first day of school in the Phillips household was Monday. I am homeschooling our three youngest girls, our oldest started college and my online courses all began that day. All in all, it has been a hectic, but productive week. We are adjusting to our new routine pretty well.
If the beginning of school hysteria was not enough to make the week interesting, we attended a free adoption event at the Humane Society on Saturday. Along with what seemed like half of Oklahoma City, we waited in line outdoors for well over an hour, even through a drought-busting rainstorm. (Crazy, I know!) We came home with more than we bargained for — two adorable orange kittens. Harvey is three months old and a complete night owl. Link is 9 weeks old and alternates between sleepy kitten and a spastic ball of energy. We named him Link because our cat is named Zelda. (Yes, we are Nintendo fans.) It was not ‘love at first sight’ for them — until last night, Zelda hissed loudly whenever she caught a glimpse of either of the boys.
